News briefs: Twilight Eclipse to begin; Creature invades Universal

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is scheduled to begin production on Aug. 17 and film through Oct. 31 at Vancouver Film Studios in that Canadian city, Production Weekly tweeted; David Slade (30 Days of Night) will direct from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.

Creature from the Black Lagoon—A Raging Rockin' Show! debuted at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park today, marked by a guest appearance by actress Julie Adams, who was the leading lady in the 1954 classic Universal Pictures film production that inspired the new musical production.

Scottish actor Alan Cumming has joined the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the upcoming Broadway musical about the comic-book hero, in the role of Norman Osborn, also known as the villainous Green Goblin, played by Willem Dafoe in the 2002 film, the BBC reported.

Rachel Miner will play Meg in an upcoming episode of The CW's Supernatural, TV Guide reported; Meg's the demon with a jones for the Winchester brothers, who was last seen in season two (played by Nicki Aycox).
