News briefs: Vinnie Jones in Chuck; Resident Evil IV

Vinnie Jones (X-Men: The Last Stand) has been tapped to guest-star on NBC's spy comedy drama Chuck, where he will play Karl Stromberg, an expert hit man with a soft side, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tron: Legacy will debut in IMAX 3-D theaters on Dec. 17, 2010, the same day it opens in conventional 3-D theaters.

Boris Kodjoe leaked something he maybe should not have on his Twitter page: The actor revealed he is set to star in Resident Evil: Afterlife, according to a report on ShockTillYouDrop: "In Toronto meeting with the director of my new movie Resident Evil: Afterlife. Very exciting!!! Lots of stunts, shooting guns, monsters."

Empire magazine has posted a new featurette about the video game based on James Cameron's Avatar from Ubisoft, with writer/director Cameron and producer Jon Landau contributing at some length to the thinking behind the game and the movie.

Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon, who worked together on the upcoming Invictus, are reteaming for the supernatural thriller film Hereafter, according to The Hollywood Reporter; Eastwood will direct a screenplay by Peter Morgan, with Damon stepping in to the lead role; filming is set to begin this fall, the trade paper reported.

Warner Home Video will release the first two of eight Harry Potter Ultimate Editions on Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 8; each of the Ultimate Editions will include a new one-hour featurette that highlights a unique aspect of the filmmaking process and will be combined to make the complete eight-hour documentary, Creating the World of Harry Potter.
