News briefs: Who's haunting Ghost; who's back in Spidey 4

CBS confirmed columnist Michael Ausiello's report in Entertainment Weekly that Hilary Duff will appear in an upcoming episode of Ghost Whisperer as a "beautiful woman of mystery" who may or may not have been involved in the death of someone.
... reports that the proposed fourth film in the Spider-Man franchise will begin shooting in 2010, and actor J.K. Simmons revealed that he'll continue in the role of Daily Bugle publisher J. Jonah Jameson: "I saw Sam [Raimi] at his Christmas party," Simmons told MTV.

E! Online is reporting a rumor that Dakota Fanning (Coraline, Push) is in talks to play the vampire Jane in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon; the unconfirmed report says that Fanning will play a member of the Volturi, an Italian vampire coven treated like royalty who essentially act as lethal enforcers to ensure the existence of vampires.


The Online Film Critics Society, which consists of Internet-based film critics, have named WALL-E best picture of the year and also honored director Andrew Stanton and screenwriter Jim Reardon, according to The Hollywood Reporter; The Dark Knight picked up four awards, for Christopher Nolan's direction, Heath Ledger as best supporting actor, Wally Pfister's cinematography and James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer's original score.

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release Bolt in a Blu-ray/DVD/digital file combo on March 22, with a standard DVD version available on March 24.

Oscar winner and Jennifer's Body writer Diablo Cody is one of three jurors who will choose the best first feature that unspools at the Berlin Film Festival, Variety reported.

Thom Mount's Reliant Pictures has ponied up $300,000 for Todd Berger's script Isaac Gray, W.D., an adventure comedy about a witch doctor who uses his power to free patients from evil curses, Variety reported; Reliant expects to begin shooting the project late this year.
