A fourth game in the Arkham Batman franchise is coming out this year? Yup. And the first trailer looks awesome.
Batman: Arkham Origins just came out October of last year, so we weren't anticipating anything new from Batman right away. But looking back on it now, we should have known better. After all, game makers Rocksteady weren't involved in the last Arkham game; that responsibility fell to Warner Bros. Games Montreal.
Regardless of the reasons, it's been confirmed that 2014 will see the next in the series, Arkham Knight. Gone are the days of the PS3 and XBox360 -- this latest offering is next-gen only. That means bigger worlds, better graphics and, in this instance, getting to drive the Batmobile. Oh, yeah. Here's the first trailer.
Looks like the big baddie will be Scarecrow, but that doesn't mean he's the only villain in town. Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn all feature in the trailer. And, be still my beating heart, rumor has it that Harley will be a playable character.
But more than anything, we're stoked that we'll get to drive around Gotham in the Batmobile. Might this Arkham game have a Grand Theft Auto vibe?
While no official date has been announced, Gamestop is listing Oct. 14 as the day it'll drop. Whatever day it actually comes out, we are very ready for it.
