Nicolas Cage takes a bite out of those rumors that he's a vampire

Ever since a Civil War-era photo showing a man who bears a striking resemblance to Nicolas Cage surfaced a few months ago, folks have started to wonder if the unstoppable acting machine might be, you know: a vampire.

Cage addressed those rumors last night in an interview with David Letterman on the Late Show and punched a few holes in the theory.

"How can I be polite about this? It's a somewhat slowed-down version of me," Cage said, posing side-by-side with the unidentified man in the photo. "Except, there's a photograph of me, and you can't take pictures of vampires."

After a bit more thought, Cage put another stake in the vampire theory, adding he doesn't eat dinner from a person's neck, either. So, there's also that.

"Now look, I don't drink blood," he said. "And, last time I looked in the mirror I had a reflection. So, I'm not going with the vampire theory."

The vampire answer may be dead, but you must admit, there's got to be something fishy going on here. The guy has starred in at least half of the movies ever filmed, and he never seems to age.

Maybe Cage really is Johnny Blaze!
