If you're in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, and you're doing an interview about anything, someone's going to ask you for secrets. We heard Joseph Gordon-Levitt refuse to discuss the rumor that he's playing Robin just a couple of weeks ago. Now it's co-star Juno Temple's turn to sit in the Dark Knight Rises hot seat and give her version of a "no comment."
In an interview to promote her new flick Dirty Girl, Temple was asked about the Nolan filmmaking experience, which she described as "sensational." She went on to say that when it comes to internet rumors, leaked photos and rabid fan speculation, she prefers to be in the dark.
"I don't think it's difficult," she said when asked about dealing with on-set secrecy. "I'm just as much in the dark as everybody else is, and I want to go see the movie and be surprised, so I don't want to tell my friends anything that I know. I'm not someone that spends a lot of time on the internet, so I actually haven't seen pictures that have been leaked."
Then came the big question: just who is Temple playing in the flick? Nolan and company have offered no real clues to this, which has of course prompted loads of internet speculation, much of it theorizing that she'll play Holly Robinson, a character introduced in Frank Miller's Batman: Year One comics who becomes a sidekick of sorts to Catwoman.
Since this flick has a Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), the theory fits, but Temple's not telling. When asked if her character is Robinson, she offers only a smile, the words "no comment," and a giggle.
We've come to expect nothing less from Nolan's cast members (the ones whose roles aren't confirmed, anyway), but now at least we've got interview footage to analyze for body language cues.
