One of the most fun parts of watching Marvel movies over the last few years has been waiting until after the end credits to see if Samuel Jackson, playing the eyepatched Nick Fury, would turn up. Well, Sam admitted he won't be in every Marvel film this coming year, but he will definitely be in at least one.

So the bad news is that Fury will definitely not be in Iron Man 3. Straight from the horse's mouth, Jackson says, "None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It's a standalone 'Iron Man' movie."

That news isn't all that surprising, since, it seems, so much of the new Iron Man is specifically about Tony's state of mind after the events of The Avengers.

But that doesn't mean Fury won't be back. Oh, no. In fact, Jackson confirmed very specifically that "I think my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

So Iron Man is the exception, not the rule. Not to mention the fact that Sam Jackson said "I think," which means he may be wrong ... or lying. At the very least we're expecting him to turn up on the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show.
