Want to see what happens when you put an entire town in a fishbowl, Stephen King-style?

We’re still a month away from CBS’s Under the Dome, based on King’s hit novel of the same name, but the network has finally released the first full trailer for the high-concept series. Thankfully, there's a lot more footage here than in those tantalizing teasers we've been getting.

The show will follow a plot similar to the novel, which explores the goings-on in a town cut off from the world by a huge, mysterious dome. The gimmick is used to perfect effect with the new footage here, as we see everything from cars to airplanes crashing into that seemingly impenetrable barrier.

We also get to see a little more of the national response, and how the townsfolk start to unravel. Think Jericho, with a dash of Lost, but more claustrophobic and with a focused sci-fi hook. If it’s done right, this could be one of the best shows of the new season. Or it could crash and burn under the weight of the premise. Regardless, fingers crossed.

The series will star Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Jeff Fahey, Rachelle Lefevre, Britt Robertson and Keith Harris. The premiere is set for Monday, June 24.
