It was on this day in 1940 that Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco. Lee was raised in Hong Kong and got into choreographing and acting in martial arts films, most notably The Way of the Dragon (1972) and Enter the Dragon (1973).

You know who's also great? Kirk Acevedo, born in Brooklyn on this day in 1971. He was in films such as The Thin Red Line (1998) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and in television shows such as Fringe and SYFY's own 12 Monkeys.

And finally, Alison Pill was born on this day in 1985 in Toronto. She was wonderful in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), incredible as Zelda Fitzgerald in Midnight in Paris (2011), and unhinged crazy great in Snowpiercer (2013).

Tomorrow: Even more sci-fi birthdays!
