After previewing the first chunk of footage of its premiere at SDCC, Deadly Class — the upcoming SYFY adaptation of the graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig — dropped a new trailer at New York Comic Con Saturday, and revealed its premiere date: Jan. 16 at 10 p.m.
The show, executive-produced by the Avenger-famous Russo Brothers, follows Marcus, a kid living on the streets who is recruited into Kings Dominion, an elite private school populated by the children of organized crime families. And you thought your high school years were tough.
In addition to surviving adolescence, Marcus must deal with violent, warring cliques while hanging on to his own personal moral code. To add to the decadence, the show is set in the late 1980s.
The cast includes Benjamin Wadsworth (Marcus), Benedict Wong (Master Lin), Lana Condor (Saya Kuroki), María Gabriela De Faría (Maria Salazar), and Luke Tennie (Willie Lewis). Rick Remender, Miles Orion Feldsott (in his first producing role), and Mick Betancourt (The Purge TV series) are the series' showrunners.
