It was on this day in 2004 that Battlestar Galactica premiered. We have some pretty specific thoughts on that show, like the best episodes, a lot of love for the show's power couples, and all the ways it's justifiably easy to hate (love) on Gaius Baltar. But also this:

Today is also the birthday of actress Pam Dawber, born in Detroit on this day in 1951. Dawber is way active with The Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and is married to actor Mark Harmon. Here is a scene where she and Robin Williams add a few meta-layers to Mork and Mindy:

This day in history also had some minor premieres, both from 1985. The first is Re-Animator, an adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft story, starring Bruce Abbott, Barbara Crampton, and David Gale. Also, again, trailers in the '80s were amazing:

And The Quiet Earth, loosely based on the 1981 science fiction novel by Craig Harrison.

Tomorrow: John Lithgow!
