This short film just might bring your childhood dreams to life in a way no live-action movie ever could.
Many moons ago, before Michael Bay was the big-budget director he has become, there was a little show called Transformers. Perhaps you've heard of it? A cartoon about alien robots who disguise themselves as Earth vehicles?
Like many '80s cartoons, Transformers existed less as a form of entertainment and more to meet one important end — toy sales. And, to their credit, the toys were rad. In fact, I'd say they were easily among the absolute best toys to come out of that decade of childhood extravagence.
And if you were a kid at that time, you know that the box art was amazing, too, with all the Transformers duking it out in space. The only problem is that you didn't get much of that in the actual cartoon.
Fortunately, filmmaker Romain Revert has made a fan film that puts us through a kind of 3D bullet-time sequence of that scene. Much like the toys, it's pretty awesome.
The only downside, of course, is that it makes us want more of the classic cartoon. Oh, well. At least they're all still available on DVD.
