Why has Nickelback become the go-to scapegoat of the Internet's abject ridicule? Philosophers have pondered this very question for centuries, but none have settled on a firm and definitive answer. Enter Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) and Fred Savage in a new teaser for Once Upon a Deadpool, the upcoming PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2.
The subject of Nickelback is broached when Fred says he prefers Marvel movies. When Deadpool counters that he is a Marvel movie, Savage states that he's "Marvel licensed by Fox," comparing the arrangement to the Beatles being produced by Nickelback. "It's music, but it sucks."
This angers Wade to the point where he is forced to point out the sheer success enjoyed by Nickelback: 50 million albums sold globally, 11th best-selling musical act of all time, Billboard's most successful rock group of the last decade, six Grammy nominations, 12 Juno awards, six Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and one People's Choice Award.

In the end Wade and Fred put aside their differences to belt out the chorus of Nickelback's 2001 hit, "How You Remind Me." While this obviously didn't happen in The Princess Bride, it's more in line with the wacky, self-aware antics of the Merc With a Mouth. We don't think Peter Falk would have minded all that much.
Nickelback was a good sport about the whole thing, posting twice on its official Twitter page:
Once Upon a Deadpool carols into theaters Dec. 12. For every ticket purchased, $1 will be donated to the "Fudge Cancer" non-profit/charity orginization.
