If it's details on the latest entry into the Tranformers franchise you're after, looks like Michigan just spilled the beans.
Details on the fourth, and possibly final, entry into Michael Bay's Transformers franchise have been in very short supply. We'd heard that Bay would be filming in Detroit, but otherwise everyone involved has remained tight-lipped. It's hard to speculate when you don't know anything, so it's a good thing that the Michigan Film Office seems to have accidentally spoken on the production's behalf. Whoops!
In a statement heralding how Transformers 4 would bring money and jobs to Detroit, the following summary was included:
As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control - all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.
Let's hope Michael Bay et al. aren't too cross with Michigan. It's not surprising they would drop some secrets. Their state is shaped like an adorable mitten, and it's really hard to hold on to certain things while wearing mittens -- like secret details about upcoming sci-fi movies, for example.
But analyzing this info, we've got to wonder -- what ancient, powerful Transformer menace are we talking about here? Unicron, perhaps? And how will Transformer technology push the boundries of our own? And who is Mark Wahlberg playing?
