Though Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been off the air for more than a decade, the series is still going strong in comic-book form. Even cooler? One of the Scoobies is getting involved.

Nicholas Brendon, who co-starred in the long-running series as Buffy’s pal Xander Harris, has signed on to co-write issues #3-5 of Dark Horse’s Buffy season 10 comic. The arc will reportedly focus on Dracula, as the gang seeks him out about the recent vampire transformations taking place in the series.

As fans know, Xander had a hilariously unique relationship with Dracula during the series’ fifth season, as he found himself under the thrall of the dark master. Assuming we’ll get some nice comic scenes between the two old pals, it makes sense why Brendon could be a valuable asset to try and capture that patented “Xander voice.”

Though Whedon is expected to retain his role as a big-picture consultant in year 10, writer Christos Gage and artist Rebekah Isaacs will serve as the main creative team on the latest Buffy comic run.

The first issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 10 is set to hit shelves on March 19. What do you think of the comic-book Buffy adventures?
