An original Twin Peaks cast member is returning for another cup of joe in Showtime’s revival series.
According to Deadline, Sherilyn Fenn will be reprising her role of Audrey Horne, and she's said to have a major role in the new installment. Fenn is, as of today, the only original cast member besides Kyle MacLachlan (who's back as FBI Agent Dale Cooper) OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED for the new series, even though Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer, whose murder started it all) has already been spotted and photographed on set (Lee is not officially confirmed).
Since Twin Peaks has been filming for a while, Fenn's casting is almost a last minute addition. It would appear that this is due to Fenn, who has a longstanding relationship with Showtime, having a heavily recurring role in Shameless.
From the original series, Miguel Ferrer is expected to reprise his role of FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield, David Patrick Kelly is said to be returning as Jerry Horne, and Richard Beymer will apparently be bringing his character of Ben -- Jerry’s brother and Audrey’s dad -- back from the dead. (Note that all of them are NOT OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED YET) As for Lara Flynn Boyle, she's chosen not to come back. New cast members include Amanda Seyfried and Balthazar Getty (confirmed).
Series creator David Lynch will be directing the 18-episodes Twin Peaks revival series set to air sometime in 2017 from a script he co-wrote with co-creator Mark Frost. Are you excited to see Sherilyn Fenn return as Audrey Horne?
