In the wake that awesome (but dark and gritty) Power Rangers fan film released by Producer Adi Shankar (Dredd) and director Joseph Kahn (Torque) — starring James Van Der Beek (CSI: Cyber) and fan fave Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) — a Power Ranger has responded.

Original cast member Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver, aka the Green Ranger/White Ranger on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has posted a video on his Facebook page in answer to fan questions about the movie. The actor shared his views on the R-rated (and NSFW) fan film and reveals that he was approached to be in the movie but ultimately declined. He then went on to explain why he refused to be in the fan film, and the actor’s answer is extremely eloquent and well thought out.

Check it out:

Do you agree with Jason David Frank’s reasons to pass on the project? And what do you think of his views on Adi Shankar and Joseph Kahn's dark take on the Power Rangers?
