While Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War continues to rake in the box-office cash, something close to the MCU’s core recently disappeared without the help of Thanos or his gauntlet-empowered snaps. The supersuit from the movie that started it all, 2008’s Iron Man, has gone missing.
The red-and-gold exoskeleton is valued at $320,000 and wasn’t in the Pacoima neighborhood prop storage facility in Los Angeles where it belonged when the owners checked on it.
The L.A. Police Department confirms to SYFY WIRE that the suit was the only thing missing from the 13200 block on Weidner Street, where the facility is located, and the case is being treated as a burglary. According to CBS News, security guards from the facility were not speaking to press.
The metallic head, chest, leg, and arms that helped transform Robert Downey Jr. into the Tony Stark fans knew from the Iron Man comics were last seen in February and noted missing in April. According to CBS, when the owners — whose identities have not been disclosed — searched for the costume and were still unable to find it on Tuesday, they contacted the authorities.
