With the second season of Outlander set to premiere in less than a month, Starz has released a new teaser trailer as well as a bunch of new images — giving us our very first look at more new Season 2 characters (yay!) — to whet our appetite for showrunner Ron D. Moore's time-travel series, based on author Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels.

The new teaser trailer (the first official trailer was released about a month ago) makes use of the famous Game of Thrones tagline (which is actually the House Stark motto), “Winter Is Coming,” to tell Outlander fans to forget winter, because “Spring Is Coming.”

Although only 30 seconds long, the teaser gives us a taste of what's to come for our beloved characters when Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) try to change the course of history and stop the Jacobite Rising (and the Battle of Culloden), thanks to the fact that Claire is an accidental time traveler from the future.

And, FINALLY!!! We have our first look at a couple of new characters, including the young French pickpocket Fergus (Romann Berrux, who is a total cutie) Jamie finds in a brothel (he does, and it’s a great, funny story involving a sausage), Mother Hildegarde (Frances de la Tour) and Master Raymond (Dominique Pinõn).

The new pics also reveal a few more images of King Louis XV (Lionel Lingelser), Louise de Rohan (Claire Sermone), Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day), le Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber) and Bonnie Prince Charlie (Andrew Gower). So dig in, and let us know if you're ready for Season 2. As for me, “Je Suis Prest” (aka the Clan Fraser moto).

Outlander returns on April 9. In the meanwhile, you can have a look at our new characters guide.
