After the first trailer for the fourth season of Outlander teased the existence of another time traveller somewhere in Claire (Caitriona Balfeand) Jamie's (Sam Heughan) new American home, there wasn't much to do but speculate -- or read.
The upcoming new season is based on Diana Gabaldon's Drums of Autumn, the fourth in her eight-book Outlander series. So far, Starz has renewed the series through its sixth season -- but eight full seasons aren't out of the question for the fan-favorite show. That said, in the here and now (which is tricky to pin down in the show's timeline), big questions are disrupting the couple's happily ever after.
Questions that deal with navigating a time of slavery and political unrest, with the knowledge and morality of modernity serving as 20/20. Important questions for anyone, but especially for someone that knows how the revolution will pan out. The newest trailer for the season highlights these questions along with the romance, drama, and foreshadowed hangings that will accompany them.

We get to see Jamie's aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and the notorious pirate Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers) show up, along with those tracking Claire's time-journey back in the present. It's going to be a trip, no matter how things shake out.
