There was a time it seemed Pacific Rim, despite being an instant fan favorite, wouldn't actually get a sequel. Luckily, that's not the case, and our first look at Pacific Rim: Uprising has arrived. While the minute-long video isn't a trailer, more of a viral "recruitment" video, it does feature our first look at John Boyega in action as pilot Jake Pentecost in the film.
The video points fans to a new in-universe website, GoJaeger.com, which features a ton of new information about the Jaegers, including blueprints of several brand-new ones. The recruitment material focuses on how Jaegers work while also teasing some new upgrades, like increased velocity, and new weapons, like the Gravity Sling.
A new plot summary can also be found on the site in the "timeline" section:
“It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes. When the Kaiju threat returns, we will be ready.”
