Tod "Kip" Williams (The Door in the Floor) will direct the sequel to the surprise supernatural hit movie Paranormal Activity, original director Oren Peli announced on the official Web site.

And, no, we've never heard of him either.

Here's Peli's announcement:

I have some awesome news for the fans of 'Paranormal Activity. Director Kip Williams will join us for the next chapter of the story. We are thrilled to have Kip working with us. He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans ... and I can't wait to be a part of what he's putting together. I don't want to spoil the story but I promise it'll surprise you. Stay tuned.

Made for $15,000, Paranormal Activity took in $151 million worldwide, making it last year's Blair Witch Project.

Its sequel kicks off in May for an Oct. 22 release.

We're going out on a limb here and guessing it won't be called Book of Shadows.
