Happy! is an Image comics graphic novel about a hitman (played by Christopher Meloni) and his imaginary blue Pegasus. It was turned into a pilot for a SYFY series, with plans for a first season starting in Fall 2017. And now those plans have changed.

Instead of SNL star Bobby Moynihan voicing Happy, the role now goes to geek icon Patton Oswalt (Dollhouse, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., MST3K). And Joseph Reitman (Money Monster) will be taking on the "crazy and delusional" big bad role in the series.

Happy! is a show about an embittered, alcoholic ex-policeman whose most recent contract kill goes wrong. Suddenly, his life is changed by the entrance of a chipper winged horse. With Grant Morrison writing the comic book source material, it looks like it could be a pitch-black show with a crazy optimistic streak. Emphasis on crazy.

Fans may be reminded of the under-the-radar show Wilfred starring Elijah Wood. For four seasons, we got to see the adventures of a man named Ryan and a dog named Wilfred—who everyone sees as a dog except Ryan. Ryan sees him as a man in a dog costume. So yeah, expect Happy! to be every bit as loony, perhaps even more, when it premieres on SYFY in 2018.
