We're only two days away from the premiere of the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, “The Husbands of River Song,” and Auntie Beeb (the BBC) has released a brand-new video to whet our appetite for the festive episode.

Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi and River Song herself, Alex Kingston, give an introduction for the next yuletide installment of the BBC’s beloved long-running sci-fi series. Showrunner Steven Moffat said about the episode “I knew it had to be a big romp for Christmas day, and there’s nothing like River Song to make that evident -- River brings a whole storm of camp glamour to it.”

Guest-starring Brit fave Matt Lucas (Pompidou) as Nardole and Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners) as King Hydroflax, the Xmas special sees a lovelorn Doctor chasing his wife across the galaxy in what is sure to be a fun madcap adventure. Check it out:

While I'm sure you guys have already seen this a bazillion times in various posts before, here's the official synopsis. Again. Merry Christmas!

It’s Christmas Day on a remote human colony and the Doctor is hiding from Christmas Carols and Comedy Antlers. But when a crashed spaceship calls upon the Doctor for help, he finds himself recruited into River Song’s squad and hurled into a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy. King Hydroflax is furious, his giant Robot bodyguard is out of control and coming for them all! Will Nardole survive? And when will River Song work out who the Doctor is? All will be revealed on a starliner full of galactic super-villains and a destination the Doctor has been avoiding for a very long time.

The Doctor Who special will unwrap on Christmas Day in the UK and across the pond. Are you looking forward to “The Husbands of River Song”?
