In early December, Telltale Games announced they were working alongside Marvel Entertainment on a Guardians of the Galaxy episodic game and unveiled a groovy teaser that hints at the possibility (it's not yet been confirmed) of the game being set in the movie universe.

No details about the game were given besides the fact that in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series players will "take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe." It now appears that some very interesting intel has dropped, and you guys can read up on it below.

A game synopsis (not an official source, so take it with the appropriate dose of salt) for a listing that popped up on GameStop has emerged that may have revealed some intriguing clues as to the game's storyline and what the Guardians will be up to. Not only that, it also reveals some of the key locations players will get to explore as they step into the "rocket-powered boots" of Star-Lord.

Which kind of contradicts what Kevin Bruner, CEO of Telltale Games, said in the press release, so … yeah, grain of salt. At least for now. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe's unlikeliest heroes, the ragtag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands. From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is slated to arrive sometime in 2017.
