In this new video interview, Avatar director James Cameron promises that future Blu-ray releases may have added scenes, maybe a branched version of the movie, or maybe even a longer version of the film, but that the first release next week will have only the theatrical version of the movie.

"I don't want to have fun with that until I've established the film that I made as definitive and put it in the marketplace," Cameron told us.

"I think they'll see that the vibrancy, the colors, the dynamics of the film are very well preserved," Cameron adds.

The Blu-ray will feature Cameron's theatrical version and comes out on April 22, Earth Day, reflecting the film's environmental themes. (A DVD drops on the same day.)
