One of my favorite characters from last year’s Jessica Jones was Mike Colter’s Luke Cage; so I don't need to tell you guys how much I'm looking forward to see Power Man punch his way through Harlem’s bad guys in his own solo Marvel series.
Since we’re now 9 days away from the show’s premiere, Marvel and Netflix have released a batch of brand-new pics and very cool character posters to remind us that yep, Luke Cage is coming. Not that any of us need a reminder, since I'm pretty sure all of us have already set up all kinds of alerts on our phones, computers, tablets, etc., etc. Right, I'm (slightly) exaggerating, but you guys know what I mean.
The 13-episode Marvel series also stars Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Rosario Dawson, who is reprising her role of Claire Temple.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Executive-produced by Cheo Hodari Coker (Notorious, NCIS: Los Angeles), who also acts as showrunner, Marvel’s Luke Cage will be available to stream all in one go when it premieres on Sept. 30.
