With the new-look Power Rangers opening wide this weekend, we caught up with the young heroes to talk about superhero-ing in the modern age.
We sat down with stars RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery to dig into the challenge of putting their own spin on these iconic characters and the pressure of dealing with a franchise that has so much love from fans who run the gamut from mid-30s to middle-schoolers. In bringing the franchise to 2017, they said they wanted this version to be reflective of how kids behave in the modern age, much as the very 1990s original showed what it was like to grow up in a different era.
They also touch on the effects work in the film and what it was like working with Bryan Cranston's Zordon ... you know, without actually getting to work with Cranston (because it was pretty much all voice work).
