If you're looking to pitch a new DC Comics series, signing on Adam West as the spokesperson is a savvy move.

NBC has released a new trailer for the sitcom Powerless, narrated by none other than the '60s-era Caped Crusader himself. The comic-stylized trailer is a fun watch as West sets up the idea behind the series: Powerless is about the average folks caught in the middle of all this superhero insanity, and the team at Wayne Security looking to keep people safe along the way.

The show has gone through some heavy retooling during development, but the new-look version feels like a mix of Better Off Ted, Powers and The Office. Which is, admittedly, a bizzare mash-up. It could be an absolute train wreck, but if nothing else we trust the sweet croon of Adam West's voice enough to give it the benefit of the doubt. The series also features an excellent cast, including Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Vanessa Hudgens, so it has some real talent in front of the camera.

Powerless premieres Thursday, February 2, on NBC. Check out the new trailer below.
