What, Us Worry? MAD Magazine has given SYFY WIRE an exclusive first look at a parody within its upcoming annual year-end issue, featuring the "20 Dumbest People, Events and Things of 2018."
MAD's annual "20 Dumbest" list spoofs the year’s biggest highlights in politics and pop culture. We’re guessing this must have been a big challenge for the usual gang of geniuses over at MAD, since we can’t recall anything headscratching that took place in the realm of politics this year. Can you?
Check out the hilarious excerpt entitled "Space Forced," written by Brockton McKinney, with artwork by Sam Sisco. Ranked 18th on MAD's annual list, the bit reminds us of Space Force, President Donald Trump’s proposed sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. SYFY WIRE’s own Ana Marie Cox described the idea as “The Star Wars sequel no one asked for” (though, hey: Elon Musk is apparently keen on the idea).
Well, how does MAD regard this plan from the White House (which apparently Trump still has on his agenda)? See for yourself. (Open the image in a new tab to get a closer look.)
The issue hits newsstands Dec. 12.
