With Alien: Covenant and its vicious band of neomorphs and xenomorphs snacking on colonists come mid-May, you may want to prime yourself for the bug hunt with a little sci-fi shooter gaming action — and Prey is the ideal hors d'oeuvre. We already showed you the second gameplay trailer back in January to whet your appetite, and it was a wild safari inside the futuristic Talos 1 deep space facility.
Arriving on May 5 for PS4, Xbox One and PC and developed by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks, Prey carries with it an immediate air of survival horror familiarity similar to hit gaming franchises like Resident Evil, Doom, Gears of War and Dead Space. There's a clandestine luxury research station, nightmarish space monsters, arsenals of hi-tech weaponry and diabolical experiments being conducted by a gregarious gang of insane scientists trying to screw with your mind.
Here's the simple but effective synopsis:
An alien-infested space station. Badass weapons and powers. And … Yu. Fight your way through the deadly Typhon aliens as Morgan Yu while unraveling the mysteries behind the infestation – and your own identity.
You find yourself trapped in space, being hunted by an enemy you don’t understand, and missing significant chunks of your memory. Before you get your hands on your powerful alien abilities – hell, before you even get your hands on a weapon – your life is in danger. You’ll need to use your wits and follow the mysterious January’s instructions if you want to survive the opening moments of Prey. Aboard the massive Talos I research facility, danger is waiting around every corner.
