Yes, Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston is getting his own big-screen movie later this year, and we have the full trailer for Professor Marston & the Wonder Women.

The biopic stars Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, The Hobbit trilogy, Beauty and the Beast) as Dr. William Moulton Marston, Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3) as Marston’s wife, Elizabeth, and Bella Heathcote (The Man in the High Castle) as their lover, Olive Byrne. Connie Britton (American Horror Story) and Oliver Platt (X-Men: First Class) also star in the movie written and directed by Angela Robinson (True Blood).

The trailer released by Annapurna Pictures centers on Marston’s relationship with the two women in his life, which led to the creation of the Amazonian Princess in the 1940s. Professor Marston & the Wonder Women will open in theaters on Oct. 27 and methinks this will be a must-see movie for every Wonder Woman fan out there.

In a superhero origin tale unlike any other, this is the true story of 1940s Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston, the inventor of the lie detector and creator of the iconic Wonder Woman, who defends his feminist superhero against charges of ‘sexual perversity’ while at the same time maintaining a secret that could have destroyed him. Unknown to others, Marston’s inspiration for Wonder Woman was his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne, two empowered women in the field of psychology who defied convention, building a secret life together with Marston that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises.
