Check out the operatic awesomeness of this second trailer for Marvel’s Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, a direct-to-video Marvel Anime adaptation directed by Hiroshi Hamazaki.

Its classic Japanese anime style comes from the fact that Hamazaki was key animator in such legendary manga-riffic titles as Ninja Scroll and Blue Submarine #6 in the 1990s.  This polished animated movie features Matthew Mercer as the voice of Tony Stark and Norman Reedus, The Walking Dead's favorite squirrel-eating redneck, Daryl, doing the sinister voice of the Punisher.

Power up and take a peek ...

Here's the official synopsis:

Billionaire Tony Stark, in his Iron Man armor, prevents an attack from a mysterious new foe, but innocent bystanders are killed, including his best friend War Machine, Lt. Colonel James Rhodes.  Detained for questioning by S.H.I.E.L.D., Iron Man escapes, determined to find the mastermind behind the attack. Pursued by Black Widow and Hawkeye, Iron Man enlists the help of the ruthless vigilante The Punisher.  But can the Armored Avenger handle what he finds when he catches the person responsible and is forced to face his deadliest weapon, a biotechnology called Technovore that could wipe out all life on the planet?

Diggin' the retro anime look?  Iron Man: Rise of Technovore launches on DVD and Blu-ray on April 16, 2013.
