We've seen more of Quicksilver, and this time he's using his powers to do more than eat a breakfast biscuit really fast.
The much-anticipated release of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past is a little more than a month away now, and the promotional machine behind the flick, while certainly energetic, has been at times ... questionable, to say the least. Just a few days ago we saw the second (Mystique was part of the first) in a series of Carl's Jr./Hardee's ads to promote the flick, starring Quicksilver as he promoted one of the fast food chain's breakfast sandwiches. The tone of the ads, contrasting with the very dramatic style of the trailers for the movie, was a bit jarring, but Quicksilver (played in this particular Marvel continuity by Evan Peters) isn't just relegated to fast-food ads. He's a superhero, after all, and today we've got an image to prove it.
Fox has just released an image of Quicksilver from the film in which he teams up with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) to bust Magneto (Michael Fassbender) out of jail. But this time, Quicksilver's doing more than just standing alongside his fellow heroes or enjoying a breakfast sandwich. This time, he's using his powers to run right up a wall.
The image is certainly striking, and gives us a new perspective on the character, who looks to be a vital part of the X-Men mission in this film, both as a very fast mutant and as a Pink Floyd fan.
X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters May 23. What do you think? Does this pic give you more faith in this version of Quicksilver?
