The original Death Race 2000 from 1975, starring David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone, was a galloping grindhouse flick appreciated by rabid hot-rodders and aficionados of crazy low-budget sci-fi fare that goes down great with a large popcorn and jumbo box of jujubes. After a series of three solid remake/sequels, Death Race, Death Race 2 and Death Race: Inferno, all directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Event Horizon, Resident Evil), the iconic material remained in idle for the past four years until legendary B-movie master Roger Corman resurrected his cult series for a new blast down the futuristic highway. Filmed in Peru on a shoestring budget, the ageless Corman produced this insane sequel featuring a murderous cross-country road race with a roster of crazy souped-up killing machines and a ruthless masked driver named Frankenstein.
Directed by G. J. Echternkamp, Death Race 2050 stars Malcolm McDowell, Burt Grinstead, Marci Miller, Folake Olowofoyeku, Anessa Ramsey, Yancy Butler, and Charlie Farrell.
