Recently, Rachel McAdams (True Detective) confirmed she’s had talks with Marvel about a role in Doctor Strange. Now the full quote from the Sherlock Holmes actress has been revealed, and it looks like she'd really rather play a DC character created by Neil Gaiman instead.

While nothing is official yet about that as-of-yet-unknown Doctor Strange role, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider claims McAdams has an actual offer on the table to star in the Marvel comic-book movie with Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Dr. Stephen Strange.

Amy Kaufman of the L.A. Times — who was the one who spoke to the actress when she confirmed the original rumor — has now posted McAdams’ full response on Twitter. Check it out:

Looks like McAdams is a big fan of Sandman creator Neil Gaiman and Black Orchid. For those of you who may not know the character, the incarnation McAdams is talking about is (most probably) the second Black Orchid, whose real name was Flora Black. Black was created by Gaiman for his 1988 Black Orchid miniseries, and she's been a Suicide Squad member as well as part of Justice League Dark. The character uses pheromone manipulation as a form of mind control.

Could Black Orchid show up in the DC Cinematic Universe at one point down the road? It's not impossible, although I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon. But eh, I could be wrong.

What do you guys think of Rachel McAdams' interest in playing Black Orchid, or would you rather see the actress stick to a Marvel role?
