Rag & Bone teases launch of new Star Wars-inspired collection

When it came time for American fashion label Rag & Bone to develop their new Star Wars-inspired clothing line, it was all about looking to the past rather than anything informed by the future. After all, the story does take place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

In the video below, Rag & Bone founder, CEO and creative director Marcus Wainwright, outlined some of the biggest inspirations for their upcoming line, citing both the militaristic influence of the Rebel Alliance as well as the most of the looks we see on some of our favorite characters in The Empire Strikes Back while the Rebels are on the ice planet Hoth. The collection definitely pays tribute to Leia's quilted vest, for example.

Of course, the line also spotlights some of the newest additions to the Star Wars universe. There are shoes that definitely evoke images of Rey scavenging on Jakku, as well as the stark red-and-black palette of the First Order. And the line itself is as varied as it is dedicated to showcasing all aspects of the franchise. One jacket undoubtedly pays homage to Wainwright's self-admitted favorite character, Luke Skywalker, but there are also graphic tees that subtly wink at symbols from stormtrooper armor or show off a few X-wings (depending on where your loyalty lies).

Vogue has an exclusive look at a few of the pieces from the upcoming collection, which offers just as much to diehard Star Wars fans as it does to those who want just a hint of the Rebellion in their everyday wear. We here at SYFY Fangrrls are already drooling over the entire line.

Graphic t-shirts from the new Rag & Bone x Star Wars collection will be available starting December 1 in select Rag & Bone stores and online as well as on ShopDisney.com.
