Rebecca Romijn has officially boarded the USS Discovery!

After it was revealed in July at San Diego Comic-Con that Romijn had joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery for the show's second season, today, the actress gave us our first look of her in character.

As you can see below, Romijn — who originated the role of Mystique in the live-action X-Men films and played Eve Baird in The Librarians — posted a photo of her in the role of Number One, sporting dark hair instead of her usual blonde locks. “Going for the gold! What an honor,” she wrote next to the image. “First look at Number One on #StarTrekDiscovery”.

Check it out:

Romijn plays Number One to another newcomer to the series, Christopher Pike (the captain who led the Enterprise before Captain Kirk), played by Anson Mount (Inhumans). The new season will also feature Ethan Peck as a younger, bearded Spock

Number One was a character featured in the original 1966 pilot for Star Trek, who served as Captain Pike's second-in-command on the USS Enterprise. The role was originally played by Majel Barrett-Roddeberry, wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddeberry.

Star Trek: Discovery returns to CBS All Access for its second season on Jan. 17, 2019. Let us know in the comments below if you expect big things from Romijn when it does!
