Your prayers have been answered! You can now pretend to feed Boba Fett to the Sarlacc over and over again thanks to a small-scale recreation of Jabba the Hutt's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The product was revealed at the New York Toy Fair last month, but today, Hasbro released the finished, incredibly-detailed images.
The barge makes its appearance in Episode VII after Luke and Leia infilitrate the mob boss's Tatooine palace, free Han from Carbonite and kill the Rancor. Jabba's forces capture them and he decides to take Leia as his sensual slave (hence the golden bikini) and feed Han and Luke to the Sarlacc, a plant-like monster that makes its home in the sand pits of Tatooine. The Hutt and his entire posse use the barge to travel to the beast's lair, so they can watch the execution in style.
Translating for the wormy wretch, C-3P0 relays that, in the Sarlacc's stomach, they "will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over a…thousand years." What follows is one of the most daring and exciting scenes in the entire Star Wars universe, resulting in Jabba's death at the hands of Leia and a jet pack malfunction sending Boba into the gaping maw of the Sarlacc, although he did later escape by blasting his way out.
Measuring 4-feet in length, Hasbro's Sail Barge is the first product of HASLABS, a crowdfunding platform that puts the designing and planning for toys in the hands of fans. Once a campaign reaches a certain amount of orders, Hasbro pushes the idea into production. For this one, you've got until April 3 to reserve one for yourself.
As a part of the company's "Vintage Collection," the toy "features exquisitely detailed, fan accessible decks that complement 3.75-inch figures (not included) allowing fans and collectors to recreate intense battles in the Star Wars saga. Its removable side panels also offer a unique opportunity to pose and set up incredible dioramas. Complete with premium deco, vintage packaging, and soft cloth sails, this dream product offers Star Wars devotees the quality and realism they know and love. Included with the vehicle is Jabba the Hutt (3.75-inch scale figure)."
