The long wait may be over for Marvel's Master of the Mystic Arts, as Deadline is reporting today that Benedict Cumberbatch is in final negotiations to play the title character in their big-budget Doctor Strange film.   Cumberbatch has been on the short list lately, with everyone from Tom Hardy, Ethan Hawke, Jared Leto and even Keanu Reeves tossing his hat into the ring.

Sinister's Scott Derrickson has signed on to direct this epic odyssey into the mystical, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, with Prometheus screenwriter Jon Spaihts on board penning the latest draft.   No dried ink on the contract yet, but the all-seeing Eye of Amagmotto doesn't lie!

So, if this stands as solid, are you spellbound by Cumberbatch as the dashing Doctor Strange, or would you have preferred a different choice?
