The horror genre just keeps knocking it out of the park this year. Between the stunning success of IT, the Guinness World Record-winning Friday The 13th video game and this new Resident Evil 2 board game by Steamforged Games, it's plain to see that horror fans want their horror across all media types and they want it badly.

So much so that the Resident Evil 2 board game Kickstarter blew past its initial fundraising goal of £150,000 (approx. $201,584 USD) in an hour. It's currently at £378,919 (approx. $511,388 USD) and climbing steadily.

The game is a co-operative survival horror game set in the Resident Evil universe and includes characters and locations from Resident Evil 2 like Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Robert Kendo, and Ada Wong along with a variety of zombies, mutants, and weapons.

There's one tier currently and that's the Survivor Pledge at £70 (approx. $93.82 USD), but that one tier gets you the main board game, an expansion set, a Kickstarter exclusive alt. Leon and all of the unlocked stretch goals -- which is most of them at this point unless they add new ones past the £380,000 amount.

In other words, if you're a Resident Evil fan and you like co-op board gaming, you'll probably fall on this like a pack of zombies of a Raccoon City resident.
