With The Legend of Tarzan set to swing to action on the first of July, Warner Bros. has unleashed a batch of new official pics to mark the return of the iconic vine-swinging character to the big screen.
Thirty new images from the upcoming action-adventure movie have been released over the weekend featuring Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, aka Tarzan, Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) as his wife Jane Porter, Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Chief Mbonga, Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as real-life figure George Washington Williams, Crasper Crump (DC's Legends of Tomorrow) as Captain Kerchover and Christoph Waltz (Spectre) as the villainous Belgian Captain Leon Rom.
Also starring are John Hurt (Alien, Doctor Who) as Professor Archimedes Q. Porterin, Jim Broadbent (War & Peace) and Simon Russell Beale (Penny Dreadful). This is the official synopsis for the new Tarzan movie:
It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
