Rhys Ifans explains why the Lizard's the perfect Spidey villain

Though he was teased in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, we never actually got to meet the classic villain the Lizard on the big screen. But according to Amazing Spider-Man star Rhys Ifans, it's definitely worth the wait.

In an interview with Collider, Ifans—who plays Dr. Curt Connors/the Lizard—talks about how his story tackles a well-meaning man who tries to help but moves too quickly and puts an entire city in danger because of it:

"Dr. Connors is a very well-meaning scientist, the science he is developing ... is potentially a force for good, and enables, like reptiles do, it enables human beings to regrow a limb. The kind of benefits of that are tenfold ... it could be a great force for good. But Connors, like make scientists before him, in his eagerness to advance that science he jumps the gun and it goes wrong."

Ifans goes on to explain how they tried to bring the reptilian monster to life in a "real" way. Check out the full interview below:
