Following director Rian Johnson on Twitter is the gift that keeps on giving, especially if you're a Star Wars fan. To be fair, Johnson's an interesting follow regardless, what with his love of movies both new and classic, but he's a particularly good time if you're looking for random trivia tidbits on Star Wars movies.

Recently, a poll on Johnson's Twitter feed asked followers to guess how many wipe transitions there were in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Force Awakens.

When the poll ended, Johnson not only gave fans the answer, but he then owned up to his own meager tally of wipes in The Last Jedi: 12.

No one's saying this is huge news or anything, but it is fun and it does something both Rian and Ron Howard are both really good at: keeping fans interested even when there's nothing to show them. After all, Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out in 3 1/2 months and we've only seen a trailer so far. But they both seem to know that not being able to show things to fans doesn't mean you can't share things with fans.

Even if it does sound like toilet humor sometimes. I see what you did there, Rian ... and I approve.
