Director Rian Johnson has made it clear he’s not a big fan of trailers that give away a film’s entire story. So, umm, you might want to avoid tonight’s first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When asked by a fan if he should make a point not to watch the new trailer dropping tonight as part of Monday Night Football, Johnson responded that he is “legitimately torn” over the question. Despite the fact that the trailer is “gooooood” (the extra Os come from Johnson), he said if you want to come in clean you should “absolutely avoid it.” What does that mean? Most likely, we’ll get some broad strokes of what the story will be. Which isn’t a huge shock (it’s the point of trailers, after all), but steer clear if you want to be completely clueless on what’s next for Luke Skywalker.

For a guy who directs gigantic tentpole films, Johnson’s stance on trailers is refreshing and entertaining. Marketing has gone too far in a lot of ways, and even though he can’t control the way Disney will promote The Last Jedi, Johnson is at least up front with fans to give them a heads-up. So be warned.

Yes, the new trailer will almost certainly be awesome — just don’t complain when you get an inkling of what the story might hold.
