With the extended cut of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi hit The Martian hitting Blu-ray on Tuesday, we have an exclusive clip from the new behind-the-scenes features included in the set.

The footage comes from the featurette “The Long Way Home - Getting to Mars” and showcases interviews with Scott himself, along with some NASA scientists and a few of the film’s stars, talking about when they think humanity really will make it to the Red Planet. The extended cut features 10 minutes of brand-new footage not shown in theaters, with much of it (understandably) focused on Matt Damon’s time hanging out growing potatoes and trying not to die.

Along with the additional footage, the extended cut of the film includes audio commentary by Scott, along with writer/executive producer Drew Goddard and the novel’s author, Andy Weir. It also includes a mini-documentary of the science behind re-creating Mars for the film, interviews with NASA specialists and engineers, and a Q&A panel discussion about the planned journey to Mars featuring commentary from NASA experts.

The Martian Extended Edition hits Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, Digital HD and DVD June 7.
