The good folks over at 20th Century Fox have released a brand-new viral video for Alien and Prometheus director Ridley Scott’s next sci-fi opus, The Martian, featuring Matt Damon (Elysium), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Michael Peña (Ant-Man), Kate Mara (Fantastic Four) and Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) in character.

After 10 days spent in isolation, the Ares 3 crew are interviewed by a NASA psychologist to assess whether they have “the right stuff” for their upcoming journey to Mars. In the video, the crew members share some deep stuff about each other; but the best bits are Matt Damon’s continuous reflections about a certain aquatic member of the Justice League. Check it out:

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return.

Based on Andy Weir’s best-selling novel, The Martian stars Matt Damon as NASA astronaut, botanist and mechanical engineer Mark Watney, Jessica Chastain as Commander Melissa Lewis, Michael Peña  as pilot Rick Martinez, Sebastian Stan as ship surgeon Chris Beck, Aksel Hennie as German astronaut Alex Vogel (Aksel Hennie) and Kate Mara as computer expert Beth Johanssen. Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover round out the cast.

The Martian will arrive in movie theaters on Oct. 2, 2015. Will you blast into space for that one?
