A new Syfy miniseries is coming down the pike with a massive sci-fi pedigree, bringing together Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) and Frank Spotnitz (X-Filesto adapt a classic Philip K. Dick novel for the small screen.

The duo will bring Dick's 1962 novel The Man In The High Castle to life as a four-hour miniseries, with Spotnitz writing the first half of the series himself. The project started out in 2010 at the BBC, though it took an eventual move over to Syfy for the deal to finally come together.

The novel itself is a Hugo award winner imagining an alternate history where Nazi Germany and Japan win World War II. Much of the story will take place in an occupied version of the United States. It’s a heady premise of political intrigue and action, but if it comes together correctly this could be a fantastic series.

No word on when the series might ramp up, but it looks like it's at least a few years out at this point. Do you plan on checking this one out?
