Luke Scott is a chip off the old block. The aspiring filmmaker has premiered a beautiful short film called Loom. It's presented by his father, Ridley Scott, and has a slick style that's reminiscent of his dad's earlier work.

Loom is a Red Digital Cinema and Red Studios production that pulls from several sci-fi films. Even some of Ridley Scott's notable works are given a nod (see if you can guess which ones). It stars Giovanni Ribisi and Jellybean Howie with cinematography by Dariusz Wolski.

Luke Scott has a serious gift for filmmaking. Aside from writing and directing Loom, he also directed those Peter Weyland TED Talk videos for the Prometheus viral campaign.

If you'd like to watch a higher resolution version of Loom, you can view it on the RED Digital Cinema forum.
