Production is ramping up on AMC’s prequel spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead, and the network has dropped the first bit of behind-the-scenes footage to give us a peek at what’s to come.

The show will be set in Los Angeles and focus on the early days of the zombie outbreak, and will star Kim Dickens (Sons of Anarchy), Cliff Curtis (Gang Related), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) as employees at a school when all hell starts to break loose. Creatively, the show comes from all the folks you know and love from The Walking Dead (i..e. Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert, etc.).

The first production video doesn’t reveal much, but it does give us a look at some of the sets as the creative team tries to give Fear the hard sell to get fans interested. Basically, they promise it’ll stand on its own, be action-driven and fit into the aesthetic fans know and love, while still having its own “vibe.” They’re saying all the right things; here’s hoping they can pull it off.

Check out the behind-the-scenes footage below and let us know what you think:

Fear The Walking Dead is set to premiere this summer on AMC, and a second season is already ordered for 2016.
